Little Christmas Illustrations

Little Christmas Illustrations

To kick-start myself into the Christmas spirit I sketched out some very festive icons.
I love the way they came out all whimsical and cute.

A festive and gluttonous weekend

A festive and gluttonous weekend

It's the time for visiting loved ones and eating some truly gorgeous foods, and that's exactly what we did.

- Saturday -
Tony, Kat and Tom came up for a weekend visit, first stop ZAAP! The best Thai restaurant in the centre of Leeds(in my opinion) they have great starter & side dishes to accompany their mains. Literally everything I've tried there has been delicious. Don't miss out on the steamed buns!

We stopped by the Christmas German Markets for a quick bite of a cheesy sausage and mulled wine.

Once we had successfully eaten all of the things, we headed to Roundhay for the Chinese Lantern Festival. Though rather pricey at £14 a ticket we did enjoy the event, and there were some really amazing looking displays. My favourite pieces were the finale of the dragons, and the 6ft flowers dotted around the park.

- Sunday -
We were all ready for round 2 on the Sunday and so headed to REDS True Barbecue for their Feast platter. Oh boy that was a challenge! All the meats, onion rings, corn bread and a sprinkling of salad.
Safe to say it put us all to sleep afterwards.

To finish it off it was Tom's Birthday - so cake was definitely necessary.
Happy Birthday Tommy!

Instagram November

Instagram November

1. 5th of November pretty fireworks. I managed to take some really nice photographs this weekend, but I'm definitely still learning how to use my camera.
2. I went to see Nocturnal Animals in the Cinema, fantastic film from Tom Ford.

3. It snowed - golly gosh - what is this white stuff?!
4. Fun times sketching my America Trip besties. I think this is my favourite group shot from the holiday, we were on the Tower of Terror ride.

5. A piece of art I created this month that I loved, based on a floral garland.
6. Hot cocoa in my Becka Griffin Alphabet of Dinosaurs mug of course.

7. Light bedtime reading on 'How to be an illustrator' and Children's book illustration.
8. Token selfie, complete with my new Blokk design necklace

You're so LA

You're so LA

LA was a very different vibe to San Francisco. It was the second section of our holiday, and seemed to fly by. We were tired from already having done a lot of activities, but still tried to jam pack our days. We had a car - because LA without a car would have been impossible.

Immediately after arriving in LA we went to a Dodgers Game.

We went on a whale / dolphin seeing boat trip.

We found an awesome mini golf course - one of my favourite things to do!
And visited muscle / Venice beach.

But the most magical day was Disney California Adventure!

America - I miss you.

Hello San Francisco!!

Hello San Francisco!!

San Francisco was a blast!
It was a great week full of culture, sight seeing and tasty treats.
We spent a week in an apartment just round the corner from Union Square, and managed to get our hands on a CityPass which made exploring the city so easy.
I do feel like we visited all the tourist spots and saw a great deal of what San Francisco has to offer.

On my favourite day we went to Alcatraz for an early morning trip, then walked all along the bay, visited the Palace of fine arts and then crossed the Golden Gate Bridge.

We caught a 49er's Game.

I also rode a bike for the first time in probably 15 years, through Golden Gate Park.
